For those who encountered problems starting their vista installation ( due to installation of other systems ), here’s a simple command that I use often, indeed very simple.

1. Insert your vista DVD and boot the installation from it (maybe fix boot options in bios first)

2. Fill in the language options and location and click next

3. Instead of going further with install button, click on “repair my computer”

4. Then select your windows vista installation from the list and click next.

5. Select command prompt from the menu that will appear (note that you can first choose to use repair startup but it doesn’t always work fine)

6. Then you simply execute these 2 commands:

Bootrec.exe /fixMBR

Bootrec.exe /fixBoot

That’s all, your windows vista installation should work fine now, restart your computer and you’ll see

I never thought of that before. I you want to amase someone with a screenshot where you can put whatever you want without editing the picture with special software, here’s the key. Just copy and paste the following into the adress bar of your browser:

Then edit the text you want and make your screenshot as you like.
