In USA the average consumer is overwhelmed by advertissments and other promotional information all day long. Recent statistics show that he’s getting nearly 3500 commercial messages a day ! And every advertiser is trying to communicate his message to the potential customer. Some of them say that it’s so hard, almost impossible to get his attention with a standart ad or already used techniques. So what can you do to make sure your website is presented in the best possible light ? Here’s what we at Linkdor think can help a lot :
1. Keep the website clean and simple !
The visual design of your website better be the simpliest possible. The lesser the better ! This is particularly true when you’re about to introduce your product or service. Unless the prospective customer becomes interested to dig deeper and learn more, we advise you to show him the less information possible.
2. Speak directly to your prospective customer !
Always deliver your messages throuthout channels allowing the so called “one-to-one” communication. Learn to know your audience in details, and try to know what they really need. This will help you bring up the correct messages.
3. Be Unique
Make sure your visual marketing is as distinct and individual as your website. Overused formats of spreading your message will not bring any success. Try to differenciate yourself from the competition and be unique, don’t follow the crowd, be yourself !
4. Be as consistent as possible !
Be consitent in your identity marks. Try to always use the same colors, graphics and styles. Put yourself in the place of the visitor. What is he thinking when he first sees your website and presentation? If it was good enough, the second time he sees the same style he’ll probably think “YOU”. Make it easy on yourself: there’s no reason the reinvent the wheel and the hot water for every new email or other communication format you’re spreading.
Try to follow these simple advices in your visual marketing. Your messages will be more targetted, clear, memorable and different from those of the competition.
